Interiors
The subject of this sculptural installation is blood: the rich, viscous, liquid that nourishes and cleanses the body through a cooperative system of cells, vessels and organs. With an eye to detail, I have fabricated parts of the body using sterling silver, felt, blown glass, upholstered cushions, industrial foam and an accumulation of found objects. I am comfortable with the body as a subject for art. I want to know the “why and how” of the body’s function as the physical part of the psyche, and I challenge viewers to take a good look at the wonders within.
